So lets get started with Facebook, recently I made a post regarding the benefits of having a business page aka “must have piece of Real Estate” and Facebook business pages are a must have piece of Real Estate for Direct Sales consultants! I would like to encourage you to read that post after you finish here.

So if you don’t have a Facebook account don’t worry you don’t have to be personally invited to they love “Party Crashers”, just go to Facebook and create an account. Facebook begins with a great profile, and you can make a great profile by adding pictures, education, your company you represent (make sure to include your link to your website). You’ll want to choose a profile picture that is professional, yet is inviting, and friendly. Your profile picture will be the first thing your new friends, potential clients, and new team members will see. Remember, when participating in Social Media Marketing, you are giving the whole world permission to read your thoughts!

Now lets go to specific reasons why as a Direct Sales consultant you would want to market your business on Facebook. There is a search option at the top right hand corner of Facebook. Type in your companies name, what came up? Let’s use Tastefully Simple as an example, there are over 3 pages of Tastefully Simple consultants and Tastefully Simple Business pages/groups. As you probably can see the pages and groups that have the most fans come up first.

Love, Love my passive income that my personal Tastefully Simple website gives me. I get so excited when there is an new email in my inbox that says “Thank you for your Tastefully Simple Order!” Yeah, that website link goes everywhere on all my marketing materials: business cards, catalogs, my Beast aka my Suburban, you get the picture. Well that is what your business page in Facebook will do for you! (again so I am not to repetitive go read the benefits of a Facebook Business Page) It’s like double dipping, (and if you know anything about Tastefully Simple there is no double dipping aloud) yes two websites! One you can personalize and share how you use your products (best of all its FREE). Take pictures of your parties add them to your business page, make a video demonstration, you can see where I am going with this. You are building great relationships that will last, interacting with your customers 24/7.

I use this application on Facebook: “Memorable Web Address for Profile, Pages and Groups” to make it easy for my clients to find my Facebook Business page and you can to. I have added this to all my marketing material to! I simply ask if they are on Facebook and then state become a Fan on Facebook! Let them know they can come and give you a review on this page. Or even add their own video using the products they purchased from the party. A Testimonial, who doesn’t love getting those (in my case a Taste-imonial!)

I am available to help any Direct Sales consultant who needs help buidling their Facebook profile and business page. You can contact me at Eleanor@yourvirtualgirlfriday.com for my special rate for Direct Sales/Party Plan consultants!

One last piece of advice, use proper networking. DO Not just start posting “I’m a XXXX consultant and you need to book a party for me!” If you need to brush up on your networking skills check out Non-Toxic Networking or go to my resources tap to find out more about it.

Next time we will be Tweeting and learning about some best practices for Twitter!
