Blog World 2010 Post by Allison Boyer

Ok so you all know I am Geeked about going to Blog World this year.  I mean it is only obvious.

1. It was in my bio on Twitter for @TheLVTweetup
2. Badges on both of my websites and fan pages for The Las Vegas Tweetup and Your Virtual Girl Friday

I could keep going but that’s not what this post is about. This post is about a recent blog post I read at http://blog.blogworldexpo.com by Allison Boyer entitled “Sharing the Knowledge of Better Bloggers”.

Here is the first paragraph:

“I know it may come as a shock to you, but some bloggers are better than you are. Yes, you are a rock star, I’m sure, but when it comes to blogging in a certain niche, you just can’t know everything. When that’s the case, don’t leave gaps on your website. Show some link love and share the knowledge of better bloggers.” – Allison Boyer

Yeah she got your attention didn’t she? I have linked it above so you can finish reading the post. Allison had my attention so I choose to go visit her site After Graduation I clicked on the tab “New Bloggers: Start Here” and I found 3 links. The Link that caught my attention was “What is a List? (And Do You Need One?)”. This happens to be on of my main goals this year building a quality list. She has a list of resources on list-building and the one that caught my eye was “Creating a Welcome Email”.

I felt like I just won the jackpot of all resources on email marketing when I clicked that Link! Thank You Allison for introducing me to Jared Kimball of Spamspert.com.

Now I know you are saying what does this have to do with Blog World 2010? Everything, as my friend @KimDoyal has posted before about some Guru’s only emailing to sell to their list not nuture it, etc… I could tell that Jared was going to be a great resource in helping me reach my goal this year. I would never of found him if I did not read Allison’s post on the Blog World blog, nor if Allison wasn’t giving the Link Love to Jared. Do I think Allsion is less credible because she linked to Jared? Not in the least.

This is a small peak in to the power of the networking and education that will take place at Blog World 2010. (not to mention the parties) Do you really want to miss it?

I did! I loved every minute of it and I am still trying to process what I learned! As a service provider I realized I needed to have some digital products to sale on my site’s to supplement and after attending the session on membership sites on Saturday with Chris Garrett, Patrick O’Keefe and others I will be emailing my list tomorrow about my membership site! Loved Loved the keynotes I now have 3 more books on my book wishlist!

There was so much to do and see, my only regret was not connecting with everyone I wanted to!
