As promised we are going to discuss “Some Best Practices for Tweeting”
When one Tweets, they want to be doing so regularly and consistently, this would start out at 5-10+ tweets per day.
Moderation is the key! So when you promote your blog posts and products do so in moderation.
You are joining the tweet-versation so you want to be conversational and in context when talking about products.
Tweople’s to be cautious of are those that are following many, but have few followers.
Always ask yourself “If I was another Tweople would I find my tweets interesting, relevent, informative or boring?
Be the “Go to Person!” How? By seeking to become an authority or expert in your niche. Reply to tweets you can add valuable information to, this is one way you can establish yourself as an expert.
Look for the “Thought Leaders” in your industry, target and follow them.
Complimenting and promoting your Tweople’s blog post, tweets, etc.. Who doesn’t love to be acknowledge, make a Tweople’s day by doing this. When you Retweet someone always preference it with RT @username. This is just one way of showing some Twitter Love to your Tweoples.
When refering to another Tweople always use @username, so other Tweople’s can connect with them to. For example my Twitter username is @VAgirlfriday. After all you are introducing your Tweople to your followers, so of course you want to do it just as you would in the non virtual world. (Just like your momma taught you.)
To Follow or not, I follow Tweople who follow me, unless they look like spammers, or questionable content would be coming across my feed that I don’t want to expose my Tweople’s to.
Be Tweet-versational and authentic (real), Tweople’s love this. But at the same time have a strategic plan in place so you don’t forget why you are tweeting.
If you have some best practices to add, I would love to hear them. Please share them with us and introduce your Twitter @username.
