In order to receive My Virtual Event Specialist Certificate I had to complete this assignment!

These where the requirements:

* Set up the event (webinar, teleseminar, radio show or tv show)
* Introduce the speaker
* Feed the speaker two pretend questions from “the audience”
* Record the Event (unless it is done automatically by the software)
* Place the event on a blog or Website

So let me tell you about my guest Angela McCormick Glotzbach. Angela is one of my class mates at VAClassroom. But as you will be able to discern she has another passion. I loved doing this interview with her because we are so much alike, ok I am dilusional she succeeded at the bartending gig, I flopped lol.

She spent a number of years in the corporate world, just like I had previously, for some reason I always ended up working for my Daddy’s material suppliers and him at the same time… Let’s just say I am more a free spirit like Angela. Enough already I hope you enjoy this interview. Maybe you will join me as a Virtual Event Specialist? VAClassroom has a great offer on it’s Virtual Event Specialist Training Program through the end of May!

When Twitter first started, users worried about how they would track their followers easily. You could not organize the people you where following into groups.

Now with Twitter Lists, you can categorize your followers in many ways. They can now be grouped into distinct categories. Bonus! Lists allow you to include people you’re not following.

Why Use Twitter Lists?

Because, Twitter Lists are convenient!

They allow you to view the current tweet stream of any particular group, without having to browse through scores of tweets. (Which happens to be the norm in the default profile page)

By simply clicking on a particular list it will bring up a view of the tweets generated by that list. ( You can view what others are tweeting without actually following them.)

You can also compile your “Favorite tweets” lineup and recommend these tweets to others. Example: Follow Friday Tweeps.

Creating and managing the your list is very easy and simple to navigate.

You have a choice to make your list public or private. (Private lists won’t get seen by others or indexed by Google)

Twitter Lists allow you to group accounts into specific categories. For example you could make a list of your favorite Restaurants, or create a list that captures the posts of various outlets like CNN, The New York Times, the Associated Press, and others. By using Twitter Lists you will also be able to get leads that are targeted to your specific audience.

Did I mention it’s FREE! This list builder is even better than the lists you would purchase from a lead generation service, why? Simply, because you know for sure what background and preferences your leads have.

Lastly, Twitter gives FREE list building a unique touch. Instead of just getting you a list of people, you get a FREE platform where you get to interact and reach out to your target market, through the use of Twitter itself.

Are you looking for a place where you can browse or search through lists by category to find the most popular lists? Then you will want to visit Listorious – Listorious is categorized directory of Twitter lists.

I received this email from

Craig Cannings Co-Founder of VAClassroom.com:

“I was recently reading a 2010 Predictions post from one of my favorite blogs, Social Media Today and they were forecasting what trends would take shape in the coming year. Interestingly enough, the 2nd prediction on this blogger’s list was that “The Social Media Specialist position will become mainstream.” In fact, a few months prior, she did a post on the “Responsibilities of the Social Media Specialist (AKA Community Manager)” and she mentioned that this particular post was the most popular one she did all year.

In the summer of 2009, an article in the popular “Entrepreneur” also alluded to the future growth of Social Media Specialists. Here is an excerpt from the article:

“Between blogging, tweeting, Facebooking and updating a LinkedIn profile, it’s a wonder how a business owner has any time to answer e-mails and phone calls, much less run a company. But the time invested in social networking is well spent in this age where maintaining a social media presence can be a necessary piece of a successful marketing strategy.

Trouble is, as the number of platforms grows, so does the time it takes to feed and groom each account. Not to mention the front-end investment of setting everything up.

For those caught up in a social media blitz–and those contemplating taking the plunge–why not consider outsourcing? A virtual professional can tackle those time-consuming tasks.”

It seems like the writing is officially on the wall: Your Social Media Skills will continue to be in serious demand in 2010! However, like any skill, it is important that it is developed and updated on a consistent basis in order to effectively service your clients’ evolving needs.”

Needless to say, I’m very excited about this prediction. Vaclassroom.com is rolling out a updated version of their Social Marketing Specialist Program which I have enrolled in. In 2010 it is my goal to continue to be “Your Go To Girl For All Your Virtual Needs!”

As you know, the business of blogs has grown and evolved significantly over the last 24 months. A quote from the WordPress.com site puts it best…

“Blogging is growing both in the US and especially internationally. Tens of thousands of new WordPress blogs are created every day – by regular bloggers, companies, large media publishers, and many others. In addition, we seeing a trend that’s potentially even bigger than blogging: Publishers are starting to use WordPress as a platform to create all kinds of sites beyond blogs – large and small company sites, online magazines, social networks, travel sites, scrapbooking sites, contact managers, startups, multimedia archives, video sites, sports sites.”

Isn’t this cool? Ten of thousands of blogs being created DAILY! Businesses are using blogging technology to create company websites, social networks, video sites, membership sites and so much more.

The sad reality is that a good portion of these blog sites won’t last more than a year as they are lacking some key success strategies for optimizing and marketing their blogs.

Well now there is a great remedy for that problem….

VAClassroom.com has recently launched a new 2-week mini-course titled, “Blog Marketing Tips, Tools & Tactics”

As I have reviewed course, I see two valuable reasons for taking this program:

1. This blog marketing mini-course will give you some advanced and current marketing and optimization skills that you can offer as a high value and “in-demand” service to a fast growing base of blog site owners.

2. Many of you may currently be using a WordPress blogsite as your primary online business presence, which is very smart! This two-week training program will essentially provide you with a blog marketing tune-up and blueprint for your site, so that you can increase your targeted traffic, business visibility and new client leads.

This two-fold purpose will have a strong impact on both your business visibility as well as new income opportunities!

The two-week training program is scheduled to begin on August 10, 2009 and will finish up on August 24th. The program includes both self-paced and live components.

The registration doors are officially OPEN NOW and seats are going fast. They have 60 seats available for this training program.

To get all the details on this important new training program, just click on the link below:

Blog Marketing

Are You Feeding Your Friends on Friend Feed?

Friend Feed is a great social network site to have a profile on. Besides being able to feed your friends by multi-tasking (yes, even if you suck at multi-tasking Friend Feed will make you look like a multi-tasking Queen or King)... it is a great service that allows you to keep up on sharing web pages, pictures, videos and music that your friends are sharing with you.

Friend Feed is a great social network site to have a profile on. Besides being able to feed your friends by multi-tasking (yes, even if you suck at multi-tasking Friend Feed will make you look like a multi-tasking Queen or King)… it is a great service that allows you to keep up on sharing web pages, pictures, videos and music that your friends are sharing with you.

What makes Friend Feed so attractive? You can enter your user names from your different social networks and pull in your feeds from Twitter, add your Youtube profile, Flickr to share photos. But my absolute Fav is you can add your feed from your blog. The beauty of this is that all of your content is uploaded for you each time you add new content and it can be found in one place.

But, Twitter, Youtube, and Flickr are not the only social networks that Friend Feed allows you to feed your friends on. They have over 50 different social networks you can connect to.

Now if you are like me, and sometimes forget you are suppose to be feeding your friends, No Worries. Why? Because as long as you are tweeting, updating your Facebook profile, adding videos, photos, and blog posts you are feeding your Friend Feed.

So you see once you “feed” your stream by setting up a profile in this fab social network, (I suggest you use the same username you’ve branded yourself on your other social networks) your feeding your Friend Feed

I so luv getting Link Luvin and when you hook up all your feeds from your blogs, Facebook Notes, etc. . you are become a “multi-tasking” Queen or King because you are instantly and automatically feeding your friends on your Friend Feed page.

FriendFeed is a unique social network site, simply because you don’t have to baby it, it doesn’t demand your attention. It is truly that invaluable assistant (that everyone dreams of having), the one who already knows what you where thinking way before you even thought it!

I look foward to you feeding me on Friend Feed! You can visit their about, FAQ, and blog for more fabulous ways to feed your Friend Feed.

Are you using RSS Feed directories to syndicate your blog? Do you have a Business/Fan page in Facebook? If you are utilizing the notes application in Facebook your readers can subscribe to your notes via RSS feed, just like you are importing your blog into your notes via RSS Feeds.

<img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-184" title="Green" src="http://www.yourvirtualgirlfriday.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Green-300x300.png" alt="Green" width="300" height="300"

Are you using RSS Feed directories to syndicate your blog? Do you have a Business/Fan page in Facebook? If you are utilizing the notes application in Facebook your readers can subscribe to your notes via RSS feed, just like you are importing your blog into your notes via RSS Feeds. I subscribed to my own notes (and was in Internet Explorer, tried in Fire Fox but it didn’t give me the link for the feed, maybe someone who knows how to get that can comment) and choose IGoogle to follow the subscription.

This is my Feed:

<img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-127" title="Social_Facebook" src="http://www.yourvirtualgirlfriday.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/Social_Facebook.png" alt="Social_Facebook" width="48" height="48"

It brought up all my graphics and my notes, to my delight.

So I thought why not submit this RSS feed aka my business page in Facebook to the FREE RSS Feed directories. (Just Google: Free RSS Feed Directories) Facebook Business/Fan pages can come up in Google or other internet searches, you don’t have to have a Facebook Account to view these pages. So why not submit your RSS Feed for your notes on your Facebook Business/Fan pages? (Me screaming inside with glee) It’s another way to drive traffic to your Fan/Business page and ultimately your Website/Blog!

So why am I so excited? Well if you are a Direct Sales Consultant, own an Amazon Store, or any other type of website that helps you earn passive income when sales come through it, this will equal “Link Love” ta da and ultimately sales conversions. Now if you have a Blog and you have submitted your RSS Feed to Facebook notes, this is double dipping, (and we all know how I love double dipping) if you don’t have a Blog and you are using the notes in Facebook (By the way, you are blogging via Facebook). This is a great way to get a little or a lot more Link Lovin!

To Link Love!
