I am always asked “Why Should I blog for my business?” There are a few reasons why.

Lets start with how a Blog can keep your website fresh. When you go to the grocery store you expect fresh new produce right? Well if your clients visit your unchanging aka static brochure type website they won’t find any new fresh content and soon they will stop visiting your site. This is one reason so many small business websites fail to perform as desired.

Having a static site is better than not having a site at all, but it is difficult to rank well in the search engines because you are not adding new content.

Search engines are only one part of the equationwhen it comes to web traffic. Social Media sites like Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter have strategies that can be used to promote and drive traffic to websites but most of these strategies are dependent on the availability of an RSS feed (Real Simple Syndication).

Do you want a way to build relationships or create conversation with your clients and potential clients? Blogs are relationship building tools. Blogs invite comments your readers can ask questions, give raving reviews, or even submit a complaint. Complaints can be a great opportunity for a business owner to provide fabulous customer service.

Do you like referrals, Blogs create that word of mouth action. Blogging helps local businesses create conversation with clients and stay in the view of their customers.

Do I have to be a geek to blog? No blogs are easy to use and require no special training.
If you can write an email you can post to a blog. If you can attach a photo to an email, you can include a picture in a blog post.

Blogs are simple to optimize for search engines. When your blog is set up right it has built in search engine optimization features that help guide you as you add new content to incorporate the local terms (keywords) that will help your site rank well in search engines.

I look forward to helping you become part of the blogosphere! My choice in blogging platforms is “WordPress.org”

Your Kingdom is your Blog, and WordPress.org is the King of Blogs and along side your King you will find his loyal Queen “Social Media Marketing.”

Using WordPress.org gives you the ability to stay in touch with your website visitors. You can use Wordpress.org as your main website in place of a traditional boring static html site as in brochure never changing, or as a compliment to your existing traditional site. Blogs are often, as is the case with WordPress.org, highly optimized for Search Engine Optimization purposes upon installation. Not to mention Google Loves them and there are loyal subjects known as “creative plugin developers.” You will be available and more reachable using a WordPress.org site to your visitors, and become an authority in your chosen market or niche.

With a socially interactive blog platform like WordPress.org you have a place to direct existing/new clients that you are interacting with online in Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube, etc… By using Social Media Marketing sites as online journals/albums for your business you will help drive traffic to your WordPress.org site. But the sweet thing is you won’t be the only one doing this, Social Media Marketing is the Ultimate Referral Machine. Did you know “The Average Twitter user influences 500 people every day?” You have a bio on Twitter that gives you a link directly back to your site, for those checking out your bio. Or that Fans on your Facebook Fan/business page can suggest your page to their friends, and every time you update your page it shows in their stream. This is one of my fav referrals because the fan doesn’t even have to do anything to refer you. I could go on but you get the picture.

Another reason you want to direct them to your WordPress.org site? WordPress.org sites allow you to not appear as a control freak! The beauty of blogs is that they allow your visitors to comment, and share your posts within social media marketing sites. Let’s say you make a blog post that a reader loves and is moved to share by clicking on a social media icon of their choosing. They just paid you a great compliment by referring you through their different social media marketing channels.

Added bonus? Yes there is one, it helps you become the authority in your chosen market or niche AKA “The Go To Person,” with a socially interactive blog platform “Wordpress.org” you will have a vibrant, current and exciting site, and I can’t stress this enough “it helps you in developing site authority”. You are no longer forcing your visitors to interact with you via an email or some other form of communication you have in place. I haven’t even touched on RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feeds which are easily utilized allowing you to develop a subscriber base that will follow your every post. A blog post for another time.
